Compression Field Mechanic

Our client is seeking an experienced Gas Compressor Field Mechanic for a full-time, permanent position located in Odessa/Midland, TX.

Overall: Mechanics run diagnostics, visually inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all our mechanical operations to ensure we minimize downtime.

Daily: Perform troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on compression stations, industrial engines and compressors to improve reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Performs repair work, preventive maintenance and overhauls on industrial 4-cycle engines (e.g. Caterpillar, Ariel, and Waukesha), 2-cycle engines (e.g. Integrals), Siemens turbines, pumps, fans, electrical motors, air/gas compressors, turbo expanders, hydraulic equipment and parts associated with these items. MUST have this experience.
• Strives for optimum performance and reliability of equipment.
• Reads and follows equipment repair manuals.
• Ability to minimize downtime by consistently following the preventative maintenance schedules.
• Actively participates in obtaining additional certifications, training and classes.
• Ability and willingness to train new hires as needed.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
• Will work overtime as needed – may include weekends and holidays.
• This individual will interact directly with customers, vendors, and other departments.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 5+ years of recent experience as a compressor mechanic in oil and gas required.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain a good driving record; Drug screen and background check is required.
• You should have a history of good job tenure.
• Must be willing to work overtime and handle calls.
• You must have experience with the engines and compressors listed above to be considered. It must be clearly stated on your resume.
• US Citizens only.
• If you do not reside in Hobbs or Odessa Area, you must be willing to relocate near the assigned area; Company offers relocation assistance.

Hourly Pay is based on experience and negotiated with company.
