SME-Field Services – Slidell, LA

Overview

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) overseas the industrial service cleaning product line of the Slidell, LA., Field Operations Division. This person is involved with promoting and directing the field operations, estimating, planning, coordinating, and executing of all field projects and is integral to the success of the Quality Assurance Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the SME include, but are not limited to, the following:

Operations

  • Have a complete understanding with full competency of High Velocity/Lube Oil Flushing services, including procedural writing, estimating, safety, and scoping of jobs.
  • Have a complete understanding with full competency of Industrial Chemical Cleaning services, including procedural writing, estimating, safety, and scoping of jobs.
  • Have a complete understanding with full competency of Hydro-blasting services, including procedural writing, estimating, safety, and scoping of jobs.
  • Provide back-up assistance and technical support to Operation Manager(s) and as required, such as logistics, paperwork, proposals, client calls, and warehouse supervising.
  • Assist in coordination of field operations.
  • Point of contact for jobs in progress when additional equipment and materials are needed.
  • Track rental equipment for jobs in progress and prepare material requisitions as needed to extend rental purchase orders.
  • Last man out for service work and/or if expertise dictates.
  • Review weekend on-call schedule w/Operations Manager every Friday.
  • Attend and participate in Operations and Quality Assurance meetings.
  • Maintain job folders for jobs in progress.
  • Assist in employee issues
  • Help resolve billing issues when the Business Manager is absent.

Warehouse

  • Provide back-up assistance to as required, including logistics, supervising, shipping/receiving supervising, and equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare material requisitions. The Business Manager will approve material requisitions for purchases and rentals within job budgets. Requisitions for items exceeding job budgets must be approved by the District Manager.
  • Prepare work orders and maintenance requests.

QHS&E

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with developing or revising processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with audits by providing the requested information timely.
  • Ensure paper and electronic job folders are complete and accurate before closing the job.
  • Promote safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist warehouse with work order and maintenance request priorities.

Qualifications / Requirements

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and abilities required for the position.

Education and or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years’ experience in the field.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Email.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business articles, Piping, and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), technical procedures and relevant government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, or the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, concentrations, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Licensing and Certifications

Must hold a Louisiana Class D (state Chauffeur’s license) or the equivalent.

Must have a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or the ability to obtain one.

The starting salary range for this role is based on experience but may range between $90K-$100K. Company offers full benefits including health, dental, vision, life, disability, paid vacation time, sick time, training and development assistance, as well as 401K.
