Job Title: Financial Analyst

Location: Midland, Tx

• Must reside in commutable distance of Midland, Tx. (This is an Onsite role, Remote & Hybrid work is not available.)

The Financial Analyst supports the Permian Basin Management team through budgeting, completing variance analyses, and developing forecasting models using relevant financial, economic, and operational data. The incumbent serves a critical role in the Permian region’s strategic planning and business development process through not only evaluating company financial results but also conducting external peer analysis and establishing benchmarks. The analyst both monitors and conducts in-depth reviews on capital and operating expenditures related to drilling, completions, infrastructure, EMS workovers, and Lease Operating Expenses. These data are used to generate forecasts and various financial reports which are then presented to senior management to inform the strategic goals of the region and support the financial health of the organization.

Essential Job Functions

• Participate in strategic planning and development process for Permian region
• Conduct external peer analyses and benchmark company financial performance based on internally developed KPIs
• Present analyses and results to senior management and the executive team
• Track capital expenditures by well for Permian drilling and completions, infrastructure, and EMS workovers
• Monitor netback tracking and verification (SWD to PCOM, Capital Recovery, etc.)
• Conduct in-depth Lease Operating Expense (LOE) reviews
• Prepare reports for Permian management detailing both actual and expected capital expenditures
• Provide periodic reviews of team cost benchmarks and goals
• Manage data process for capital estimates in AFE Manager
• Monitor Authorization For Expenditure (AFE)/ICE/EFC cost estimates
• Maintain type-curve AFEs for accuracy
• Develop and implement strategies to improve Permian cash margins
• Support Permian management team in budgeting, quarterly reviews, and variance analysis
• Provide business support for Permian teams focused on financial and economic data
• Other tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)

• Experience with and knowledge of Aries, Enertia, Spotfire, Microsoft Office Suite software packages preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task with attention to accuracy
• Must be a team player with the ability to adapt in a collaborative and fast-paced work environment

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
• A minimum of 5 years related experience is required for this position.

Minimal Travel may be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations.
