Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Robinsonville, MS
- Must reside in commutable Area. (This is an onsite role, Remote is not available.)
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. (Sponsorship not currently provided)
Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and supervision of personnel to meet the maintenance goals and objectives and support requirements of the mill in a timely, efficient and safe manner.
Essential Functions
Promotes a safe working environment and safe work practices:
- Schedules and leads regular and shutdown safety meetings for the crews.
- Identifies, seeks input and takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards in the workplace.
- Supports Plant safety program and adherence to Plant safety rules.
- Strives to improve the safety performance of the maintenance craft persons through coaching
- and training.
- Sets expectations for housekeeping in the shop and on the job site, and follows up.
- Conducts and documents housekeeping and PPE audits.
- Investigates and prepares reports for incidents, near miss and substandard conditions.
Administrative responsibilities:
- Completes required paperwork accurately, to include Daily and Weekly Schedules, completed
- work orders, standard operating procedures, technical documentation and MAPCON database.
- Reviews work orders for action items, and creates follow-up work requests for corrective work
- as appropriate.
Direct the work force:
- Supervises maintenance personnel to set expectations for safety, quality, duration, cost and
- thoroughness of the work.
- Provides feedback to maintenance people based on performance and living up to company values.
- Provides technical assistance to the maintenance people.
- Evaluates the maintenance people’s job performance, and develops and implements
- appropriate measures for improvement.
Ensures the effective use of maintenance resources:
- Schedules daily activities for the area crews.
- Issues printed work order packets to the crews for scheduled work.
- Ensures the maintenance schedule and work orders are posted.
- Matches maintenance peoples with skills required to do the work.
- Schedules crews to develop job skills.
- Develops, coordinates, and executes plans for break-in work.
- Challenges break-in work that disrupts the daily schedule.
- Assigns maintenance people to handle the break-in work and complete repairs in the safest,
- most effective and efficient manner.
- Follows up on job overruns and interruptions.
- Holds employees accountable for productivity and efficiency.
- Assigns maintenance people to other maintenance areas when needed.
- Visits each job site as time permits to ensure work is progressing as planned.
- Manages overtime and makes overtime assignments.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.
- Assist planners with returning unused materials and repair parts when jobs are completed.
Supports and promotes reliability:
- Identifies equipment and facility reliability issues and implements actions to correct.
- Involves reliability engineers when appropriate.
- Promotes root cause failure analysis by maintenance persons.
- Discusses the root cause of equipment failure with maintenance persons.
- Assists with developing and maintaining Preventive and Predictive Maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s Degree or better preferred, significant job related experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Related experience in maintenance management, CMMS management, 5+ years of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance experience is essential with at least 10 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
