We are seeking a strong candidate for the position of Mechanical Engineer.

• The successful candidate will use a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering management principles to successfully lead small and large scale projects in both mechanical and electrical arenas.
• The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Engineering team and must be committed to excellence in everything we do with the departments on safety, quality, and capital improvements projects.

Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Updating and creation of plant and equipment drawings, working with document management systems
• Hands-on work with area teams to troubleshoot plant issues, interpret and explain drawings
• Design of small structures and improved parts/equipment
• Knowledge of current codes, regulations, and standards in various disciplines
• Engineering Knowledge- Solid understanding and practical application of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering principals
• Communication Skills – The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand.
• Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team
• Leadership Presence – Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating, and supporting change, and production process issues that arise. This includes the willingness to face adversity and conflict head on.
• Attention to Detail – Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.
• Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of computers, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including (Microsoft office, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc…)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 10 years experience as a mechanical engineer in an industrial environment and emphasis on project engineering and project management
• Proficient with AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of experience in leading cross functional projects, including electrical and civil engineering, in an industrial environment
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineers License.
• Melting, casting, or long product rolling experience
• Experience with Industrial Projects and Processes
• Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience
• Prior leadership experience and contractor management
• Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
