Job Title: Operations Analyst

Location: Midland, Tx

• Must reside in commutable distance of Midland, Tx. (This is an Onsite role, Remote & Hybrid work is not available.)

The Operations Analyst will assist VP of Operations and Operations Department in Operations cost tracking and optimization, forecasting, Compliance, Purchasing, Budgeting, Project Tracking and New Project Development.

Essential Job Functions

• Track monthly operations cost and income, generate reports for operations group and for management
• Identify areas for reducing operating costs, suggest projects, execute projects if applicable
• Prepare and submit proposals for new development opportunities.
• Build and track budgets for projects at the operating facilities.
• Learn and fully understand the RIN Generation Process, take over RIN Generation within first 6 months
• Learn, understand and take ownership of required compliance tasks for the operatizing facilities.
• Actively seek out new landfill development opportunities. Screen for potential projects, identify key contacts, evaluate project viability, facilitate and attend meetings.
• Prepare and submit proposals for new development opportunities.
• Serve as liaison to purchasing/credit group from operations department
• Conduct financial analysis for the operating facilities: monthly operations costs analysis, financial projections, payback calculations for projects.
• Assist VP of Operations as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
• Optional depending on experience – assist in hedge strategy for natural gas and RINs
• Optional depending on experience – act as project manager for small projects in the operations group

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)

• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite required, especially Word, Power Point and Excel.
• Must possess good analytical skills, able to interpret data sets and present results convincingly and persuasively
• Self-Motivated – able to achieve objectives without constant oversite
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time
• Work is generally performed indoors.
• Occasionally lift and carry 20 lbs. plus
• Repetitious hand and finger dexterity to communicate via email and cellphone
• Extensive visual and auditory observation during work.
• Write and read job-related notes via email, etc.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
• Ability to multi-task and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to read and write English.

Education and Experience

• Engineering or Finance background (degree preferred, but not required)
• A minimum of 3 years related experience is required for this position.
