Job Title: Project Controls Manager

Location: Midland, Tx (Relocation Assistance Available)

  • Must reside in commutable distance of Midland, Tx. (This is an Onsite role, Remote & Hybrid work is not available.)
  • Some Travel Required (Must be willing to travel and visit project sites)

Prior experience in Industrial Manufacturing Operations (Piping and Instrumentation, Vessel, Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Mechanical Equipment, etc. background is preferred)

Machining (CNC & Manual), Fabrication (Welding, Metal Cutting, Metal Forming) experience is preferred.

A company with over 30 years in Natural Gas Processing & Treating Plant Sales, Manufacturing, Construction and Operation is hiring a Highly Experienced Project Controls Manager.

The Project Controls Manager will report to the CFO and is responsible for developing and maintaining project costs, budget tracking, planning and forecasting as well as providing support for schedule tracking.

Gas Treating and Processing Plants (LNG & RNG)

CONVENTIONAL GAS TREATING

  • Amine Units
  • Condensate & Crude Oil Stabilizers

RENEWABLE GAS TREATING

  • Landfill Applications
  • Digester Applications
  • H2S Treating
  • Field Consulting
  • Nitrogen Rejection

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop a team of individuals focused on all aspects of project and cost controls support activity
  • Compile, analyze, and report project cost and schedule to the project team
  • Possess working experience with cost control, budget tracking, project change management, planning, forecasting, progress and performance reporting, and project cash flow management
  • Provide support in the management of project budget and cost control functions including budgeting, schedule tracking, change management, tracking progress, and forecasting
  • Thorough understanding of project accounting and accrual collection
  • Experience with Sage suite of products
  • Develop project breakdown structures
  • Excellent computer skills within the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Provide support to detailed schedule tracking based on project understanding from team members
  • Track project budget baselines and report variances
  • Forecast cost changes for baseline budget adjustments
  • Provide support to track project progress and perform analysis of bottlenecks, trends and critical path
  • Identify and communicate project cost risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Prepare project status presentations, highlighting key accomplishments, risks and changes
  • Develop custom projects reports as needed to facilitate project discussions
  • Provide additional support as required/needed by the project manager(s) or department heads
  • Willingness to travel and visit project sites
  • Track project deliverable & monitor physical percent complete (tracking installed quantities)
  • Plan / Actual / Earned / Forecast Curve

  • Occasionally lift and carry 20 lbs plus
  • Repetitious hand and finger dexterity to communicate via email and cellphone
  • Extensive visual and auditory observation during work
  • Experienced setting up and monitoring complex project schedules

Costing:

  • Develop and adhere to Project Controls Plan
  • Develop and maintain project cost control guidelines
  • Provide project cost data and supporting documentation
  • Develop reports on actuals, variances, trends and re-forecast as necessary
  • Ensures proper change management throughout the project phases
  • Develop and maintain detailed cash flow and commitment flow throughout the project phases
  • Review and validate contractual compliance of project invoices
  • Assist and support project manager in financial project close-out
  • At the completion of the project, develop and ensure recording of the project’s historical cost information and “lessons learned” for future use

Scheduling:

  • Assist in schedule tracking
  • Develop customized schedule reports as per project needs (two week look ahead, variance reports, progress reports, milestone reports as needed)
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • (4) Four-year relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years or more of relevant cost control, planning and scheduling
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, submit to background check and pre-employment drug screening
