Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

  • Process Engineering Experience in the Natural Gas Industry is Required.

Location: Midland, Tx (Relocation Assistance Available)

  • Must reside in commutable distance of Midland, Tx. (This is an Onsite role, Remote & Hybrid work is not available.)
  • Some travel may be required

Prior experience in Industrial Manufacturing Operations (Vessel, Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Mechanical Equipment, etc. background is preferred)

Machining (CNC & Manual), Fabrication (Welding, Metal Cutting, Metal Forming) experience is preferred.

A company with over 30 years in Gas Processing & Treating Plant Sales, Manufacturing, Construction and Operation is hiring a Highly Experienced Senior Process Engineer.

The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of natural gas treatment facilities in conventional and renewable gas industries.

CONVENTIONAL GAS TREATING

  • H2S Treating
  • Field Consulting
  • Nitrogen Rejection

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and troubleshoot chemical process simulations
  • Full development of P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
  • Size and design all types of processing equipment, including absorption / distillation towers, pumps, exchangers, piping systems, control valves, relief valves, filters, etc.
  • Document sizing / design parameters for future reference
  • Ensure design is compliant with ASME VII, B31.3, API, and other industry standards
  • Participate in a Hazop review and answer engineering-related questions
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support to operational facilities
  • Participate in commissioning of treatment facilities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)

  • Chemical Process Design Read simulation data, run simulations, design plants
  • Oversee chemical process design for all projects, understanding all technical aspects of all plant types
  • Consult with project managers and customers on process considerations
  • Understand industry standards and best practices regarding material selection
  • Development Aid in developing process designs for new plant types
  • Recommend process design standards to Design Engineering Manager for implementation
  • Educate project engineers on best chemical process practices and heuristics
  • Help with preliminary designs for bids Quickly run simulations per conditions provided with requests for quote
  • Perform preliminary sizing for equipment for bids as needed
  • Aid in developing budgets for plant bids
  • P&ID development Incorporate all design information to P&IDs, follow checklist procedure
  • Meet P&ID submittal deadlines
  • Equipment sizing and procurement Evaluate bids, size engineering deliverables, order equipment, interface with Engineering Coordinator
  • Layout Decide best layout for equipment based on process requirements, cost, operations, NEC/ASME
  • Supply Drafting with vendor drawings, review 3D models for new plant designs
  • Vendor Management Check order status, meet with vendors, ensure deliveries, evaluate vendors, review and approve drawings
  • Oversee Fabrication and Assembly Monitor and coordinate project schedules, consistent communication with fabrication and assembly crews, ensure every part and piece is available when needed, facilitate walkdown before shipment
  • Start up and commissioning Possible on-site assistance, remote availability for support
  • Advise of best practices based on process conditions
  • Operations and Warranty troubleshooting
  • Financial review Set project budgets and price customer change orders
  • Review job costs during progression and final as-built job cost analysis
  • Participate in design review, PHA, and regular schedule updates
  • Mentoring/Mentee-ing Regularly participate in being mentored as well as mentoring others at all possible opportunities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering Discipline
  • 7+ Years Relevant Process Engineering Experience in the natural gas industry
  • PE License a plus
  • BR&E ProMax Experience a plus
